Use smarts to prolong juice flow

Battery life can turn any digital photographer
into a worrywart. My solution has always been to carry an extra battery with me. But considering the cost of batteries for some cameras, it's easy to understand how that may not be a viable option for more frugal shutterbugs. If you want to get more shooting time from your batteries while you're in the field, you might want to take a look at some energy-saving tips suggested by Ziv Haparnas at DarkVision Hardware. Some tips are obvious-like keep use to a minimum of the camera's LCD display and flash-others are enlightening-like how to reduce the camera's use of its motors. Nevertheless, conserving energy when you're using your camera only goes so far, so my recommendation is save up your pennies and get that extra battery.Permalink: Use smarts to prolong juice flow
