USE CONVERGING LINES FOR IMPACT

Conventional, straight on photographs are great, but for real drama and dimension I like to shoot at odd angles.
By now I think you can tell that I'm a fan of panoramic type photography and wide angle lenses. When you combine this with converging lines the effect can be astounding.
I was out shooting videos at The Venetian Hotel and Casino for my "PlayTime Las Vegas" blog, a few days ago, and while there I also took some stills.
While checking out the stills I remembered that I had recently bookmarked an excellent article about "converging line" photography and realized that some of my photos were in the same vein
.While I admit that the picture above, taken with my Kodak P880, isn't technically a perfect example of a converging line photograph, the technique is basically the same. I should mention too, that the original digital file looks much better uncompressed and in full screen format, where there is more of a converging line effect.
So, check out this excellent treatise on the subject, study the accompanying example pictures, and get out there with your digital camera and start looking for opportunities to try this form of composition.
