BLDGBLOG: "The city as an avatar of itself":
I find these photos strangely compelling - knowing that they're photos, but having to convince the brain that they're not models someone built in their basement.
Olivo Barbieri uses a tilt-shift lens, and takes the photos from a helicopter. The lens "allows me to choose what I really like in focus: like in a written page, we don't read [it as an] image but one line at a time."
Fascinating stuff.
