Small budget photography - jesse crouch's log
If you're on a budget, getting together a good set of photography Gear can be a .... fiscally daunting experience. After you've got the camera, then you've got to look at memory cards, lenses (assuming you have an SLR), flash units, lighting, filters, a decent camera bag, software - tons of stuff, and none off it cheap.
Jesse from ifakedit.com has a heap of ways for you to save a bit of cash on your gear - while still having everything you need to get results.
