Samsung launches first digital SLR: Digital Photography Review:
Samsing's first Digital SLR has been unveiled.
6 Megapixel, 2.5" LCD, really light – only 505 grams.
I'm not a big fan of this sort of camera – it's obviously aimed at the higher-end of the consumer market, but it's already pretty much at the top of that range. The lenses use Pentax's KAF bayonet mount technology, so you can use Pentax lenses, but let's face it – they're hardly in the high end themselves, these days (and I'm speaking as someone who cut his photographic teeth on Pentax, back in the day). If you buy a camera that's top of the range as your DSLR starter, what do you move up to? Where can you go?
Nowhere. And I think that's a problem.
