Cameras

Okay, I think it's generally accepted now, even by us DSLR freaks, that lugging about a big hefty camera for just the normal social events just isn't practical. Of course, we still want a good camera to take some shots with, which is why as of late, many manufactures are bringing out very high end "point and shoot" cameras that don't require all the fiddly setup work of a real SLR, while offering a significant proportion of the quality.
The Ricoh CX1 is exactly this, a 9mp camera with a focus on quality, as well as some interesting features; how does HDR sound? Yep, that's right, the Ricoh marks the debut of an auto HDR shot mode on a portable! This is exciting news as it should allow for some stunning shots to be taken without a lot of postprocessing and messing about mixing images together.
It also features a phenominal 120fps shooting mode at 640x480, which of course scales down speed wise as the resolution increases, but it should be pretty awesome to capture at that rate!
Of course, this does all come at a price, £300 in the UK and no word of a US price.
