 Reviews Fuji Finepix S9000-Review Camera-Front-Angled

DCRP Review: Fuji FinePix S9000

At the lower end of the market, but a good example of the current crop of higher end point-and-shoots. I could see a pro using this for more off-the-cuff candid type work, or as a backup for weddings, or as an assistant's (budget) camera.

Nice wide angle starter point on the zoom, 9 Megapixels, traditional stupidly small memory card included with the camera (16 meg. Stupid). Supporting both xD and CF cards is a nice touch. AA batteries are both a blessing and a curse – they mean you need a separate, and rather cumbersome recharging unit, and a collection of batteries for it – but they also mean that, in a pinch, you can stop at the nearest convenience store and pick up some fresh ones.

  • The FinePix S9000 looks just like a digital SLR, and a lot of people will probably think that it is one. But looks are deceiving: the lens is fixed, and the build quality isn’t quite as good as most D-SLRs. Even so, the S9000 is well put together for a fixed-lens camera, and it should hold up well over time.

  • I’d like to have that at least. I love photography, short of cash though..
