Crop!
Post-processing is part of the overall process of photography, and cropping should be one of your Primary
tools in your post-processing arsenal.
Often, in the heat of the moment, while shooting, you're out a little too wide, trying to make sure you don't miss anything vital. This is a good thing - while there's nothing you can do about that shot where you accidentally amputated someone's head, you can remove the excess amounts of sky, or background quite simply when you get home.
Crop out the distractions at the edges, and see what you come up with...
