Despite a desire to produce high quality digital photos many amateur photographers only take pictures with the camera set to "Auto."
Now, many a great shot has been taken with cameras, both film and digital, set to the Auto mode. But if you're at all serious about improving your photographic skills it's time to start exploring the other settings your camera offers, including "Manual."
Here's a great introduction and guide to expanding your photographic efforts by learning about your digital camera's advanced controls.
Take a camera with you whenever possible, and look around, you'll find a picture somewhere.
