PhotoAttorney: Pricing Your Products and Services

PhotoAttorney has some good advice on the legal side of the photography business. Those of you who are already in this space probably have a lot of this covered already (if not, why not?), while those of us (like me!) who are looking at moving into the professional side of things can find some good general advice, like the linked article on how to set prices for you work, and lots of good stuff (in the archives) on copyright, and your rights when taking photos.

Most of the advise on the legal side is quite US specific, so if you're not in the US, it'll be worth paying the money to one of your more local sharks to get the equivalent information. If there's an appropriate photographers association in your country, it would be worth looking at what they have to offer as well - I know that my local group has PDFs of model and property release forms, along with a collection of white-papers on subjects like "

Guidelines for Estimating and Negotiation" and " Copyright: What every NZ photographer needs to know". All good stuff, and I'm sure your local equivalent has the same sort of thing.
