If you love "Extreme" things then this new Pentax wonder cam may be just for you.
Pentax is another of those long term Japanese camera manufacturers that has been quietly producing world-class cameras and has successfully made the jump from film to digital.
But one thing Pentax never did was to stray very far from well thought out, dependable cameras that steered clear of gimmicks.
But there is plenty of competition out there and it looks as if Pentax, with its new, X70 Megazoom, which has an astonishing 24X optical zoom, is the company's entry in the "look at me" category. Mate that with 12 mega pixels of sensor and you've got quite a bit of shock value.
