Nikon Digital Wide Zoom Lenses Compared
A month or so back, a friend of mine asked me to take some photos of his apartment, to help with the sales process - I gave it a go, but the stock lens
on my D70 really wasn't up to the task. Since then, I've been looking more closely at wide angle lenses, with the aim of picking a good one up in the coming months.
Ken Rockwell compares 4 of the current offerings, and summarizes as follows:
"Get the Nikon if you can afford it, otherwise go for the Tokina."
The Nikon is far and away the most expensive of the 4 - over US$900. The Tokina is just under US$500. A large difference, but if you're looking for quality, Ken reckons the Nikon's the way to go. Of course, read the whole article to build your own opinion.
