New version of Exposure

While I'm not one to curb my exuberance for the latest digital camera, I can sometimes yearn for the flavor of film. Luckily, just about anything in the Real World can be simulated in the digital one. And that's what Exposure, by Alien Skin software, does. I've mentioned the plugin before. It's a much more robust than what you might find built-in to more general image correction programs, like DxO Optics Pro. This week Alien Skin released the second version of Exposure with more than 300 pre-sets that enable you to emulate the look of films past, present and discontinued. What's more, it lets you recreate lab and dark room effects like push and cross processing and the "glamor" effect found in old black-and-white Hollywood stills. At $249, Exposure will send Shivers
through your savings account, but if you're ready to cross over from dabbler to doyen, it's the kind of tool you'll want on your photographic workbench.Permalink: New version of Exposure
