An eagle-eyed blogger at Digital Camera Resource spotted a new version of Kodak's EasyShare Z712 IS (photo above) at the Rochester, N.Y., imaging company's Web site on Sunday, but apparently the posting was premature. Kodak eventually sacked the page from its Netstop, but not before good old Google sent it to its cache files. Speculation is that Kodak plans to pull the wraps off the new Z812 model, as well as two others, at the IFA, the world's largest consumer electronics show which starts in Berlin on Friday. Here are some highlights from the outlaw Web page.
- 8.2 megapixel maximum resolution.
- Fast f/2.8-f/4.8 all glass 12X Schneider-Kreuznach Variogon optical zoom (36-432 mm).
- 0.23-second click-to-capture speed.
- ISO 3200.
- 2.5-inch color display.
- HD picture mode with 16:9 format.
- HD quality video.
- 32 megabytes of internal memory, plus SDHC card slot.
- Panorama stitch mode for up to three shots.
