NEW KODAK DIY PRINT KIOSKS BUT NOT FOR US
Filed in archive Announcement by jim on March 12, 2007

Kodak has announced that they have, "unveiled new POS photo printing kiosks" in Dubai; which sounds like a bad pun for that country.
According to industry reports these new DIY printers will have the latest in "Picture Perfect" technology and offers consumers more options than their currently available models.
So how come we're not getting them in the US yet? I don't know, but despite what most Americans think, we aren't the first of Earth's citizens to get the latest technology.
It took an act of congress to force the TV networks to go digital, whereas digital TV and widescreen HD TV has been in place for decades in Europe, Japan and other Asian countries.
We still don't have widespread digital terrestrial
radio, something that has been commonplace for many years in the same above named areas. I'll bet most people don't know it even exits at all. Here's the news release.
Now, and again this is being released in the Middle East, true 16:9 printers and advanced widescreen digital cameras are a reality. You know I'm hot for these gadgets with my love of wide-angle and panoramic photography knowing no bounds.
I need another camera like I need my own jet aircraft, but I'd be tempted to crack open the piggy bank for this stuff.
Perhaps the manufacturers feel there's a lack of interest in these products in America, but I'm betting that they're introducing them in places where they feel the new wealth is.
Can you say "oil?"
