Since Apple introduced its awesome iPhone, the popularity of touch-screens has zoomed. BenQ is taking advantage of that popularity with its latest digital still camera (DSC). Its new DSC T800 eight megapixel (MP) offering has a 3-inch touch-screen with a resolution of 232,000 pixels. Here are some of the camera's other features.
- Pentax 3x optical zoom lens.
- Face-tracking function that automatically detects and tracks up to nine human faces, keeps them is focus and color-corrects them.
- A Super Shake Free system that will automatically increase the ISO for a shot to offset any motion or shake with a higher Shutter speed.
- Maximum ISO of 6400.
- Z-lighting feature that allows lighting problems in a shot to be corrected in the camera.
- MPEG-4 video at 640 x 480 pixels and 30 frames per second.
- 12 shooting modes.
- PictBridge for printing photos without the use of the computer.
- Support for SD memory cards up to four gigabytes.
- Personalization of photos in the camera with stamps, frames or memos.
- Four colors: red, black, silver and white.
The T800 is expected to be available in early October in Latin America, Europe and the Asia Pacific region. No price for the unit was disclosed by the company.
