Looking to boost your academic credentials in photography, but haven't been able to leave life for two years to do it? Take heart. The London College of Communications is launching in January an online Master's program in photojournalism and documentary photography
. According to a posting at the Lightstalkers Web site by the director of the program Paul Lowe, the course will be delivered entirely through online tutorial support and review, and online seminars and discussion groups using video conferencing, chat sessions both in groups and one to one, and regular VOIP discussions. It will be supported by a dedicated industry standard digital content management system (digital railroad) that will allow students to upload their images onto a server, and then review them with other students and tutors. Each student will be required to keep a blog of their studies as part of their portfolio. There is no requirement to visit the college during the course. For the locals, the course costs 3240 pounds (US$6548), payable in two installments. The fee for international students is 10,095 pounds (US$20,400).Permalink: London calling
