Scanning & Printing
by John Mello on August 21, 2007
Despite Kodak's best efforts, many shutterbugs don't think twice about the paper on which their photos are printed. Even if you're producing prints with an inkjet printer, you can give your images a special touch with the right paper, like the kind launched today by Hahnemühle. The German company, which has been in the fine art paper business since 1584, has announced a new inkjet stock made from bamboo fibers.

According to the company, its "Bamboo 290" has a "classy feel" and gives photos an "elegant appearance." It adds, "The paper's natural basic tone makes it ideal for fine art prints with a warm hue." Hahnemühle pledges that a portion of the revenues from sales of the paper will go to environmental projects. A spokesperson for the paper maker tells me that the stock won't be available in the United States for several months and that pricing information isn't available at this time.
