Maxell Releases Holographic Storage Medium:
Disks starting at 300gig, with transfer rates of 20 MBPS (yes, Megabytes) - that's a good start. They're working towards disks of 1.6 terabytes, and transfers speeds of 120MBPS, but have provided no real idea of how long away that is.
Even at the 300 gig size, with an archive life of 50+ years, there's my image archiving system right there.
Now all we have to find out is how expensive they're going to be...
