Sometimes the most obvious of things can go unnoticed even on the Internet.

When I was a kid it seemed as if there were "clubs" for everything. There were stamp collecting clubs, ham radio clubs, chess clubs, knitting clubs, cooking clubs, garden clubs, and yes, photography clubs.

These days life is ramped up and everyone is in hurry, multitasking, Bluetooth headset affixed, and rushing about from one errand to the next.

So who has time to attend get-togethers with people who share your passion for digital photography?

The answer is, everyone, via the Internet, of course.

Internet forums allow you to connect with people who like the same things as you either by message board or live chat, all from the convenience of wherever you happen to be.

I've learned a lot from these online groups and had y=the satisfaction of helping some of my fellow members work through some of their photographic glitches.

I even got luck enough to make an actual real life friend through our common interest in both digital photography and panoramic film cameras.

That's rare and risky, I admit, but I got lucky, and have a cross country friend with a time share in Las Vegas, and he and his wife visit every year, and we have a ball going on "shooting" expeditions.

I've checked out quite a few groups and these forums concentrate on digital photography, and are comprehensive, so check them out and have some fun with your fellow enthusiasts.

I took today's picture in March at The Gilcrease Nature Sanctuary in Las Vegas with my Kodak P880 while shooting a video for my "PlayTime Las Vegas" blog.

That crazy bird was very entertaining and said "Oh baby," repeatedly.
