Fujifilm Teams with National Geographic to Sponsor Photo Contest - Business and Industry:

Fujifilm teamed up with National Geographic Magazine to sponsor a photography field trip for the winner of its photo contest, the company announced today. The competition involves shooting pictures to describe "morning, noon and night." The winner will receive a Fujifilm FinePix F30 digital camera and an all-expenses paid trip to the United Kingdom to shoot the breeze, and perhaps some photos, with pro photographer Bill Hatcher. The photos from the U.K. assignment will appear in a three-page Fujifilm advertisement that will be in a future issue of National Geographic Magazine.

One of the things on my list to do more of, is competitions - I figure they're a great way to introduce some artificial restrictions into your shooting, and to get you to think about your photography in a new way. The odds of coming out with the best image are pretty small, but the odds of coming out with something better than the nothing you would have shot, if you hadn't entered? Huge!
