Software

Discounts aren't unusual at this time of year, but the folks at Corel are sweetening their deals with a free camera kit that includes a mini-tripod. The kits are being offered with a number of the Canadian company's software packages, most notably its fine photo editing program Paint Shop Pro Photo XI (PSP 11), as well as CorelDraw X 3 and Corel Painter. The application maker's notion of "free," though, does need some adjustment. If you buy PSP 11 at its normal educational rate, its price is $49.99, but if you buy it with the camera kit, it's $59.99. Charging a sawbuck for the camera kit isn't exactly free in my book.
