Here's a free program for you that's a bit removed from digital photography, but then since today's digital imaging enthusiast makes use of any tool that works, I think there's a place for it in our "digital darkrooms."
What we have today is the, "PCHand Screen Capture Recorder Suite", program from "PCHand Software" that allows you to
perform easy screen captures.
This can be helpful when you want a copy of something on your computer screen so you can incorporate the image in scrapbook pages, for example.

Take a camera with you whenever possible, and look around, you'll find a picture somewhere.
