Having a photo published in "National Geographic" magazine is probably one of the most difficult things anyone can hope to do.
National Geographic adheres to the highest standards of excellence when choosing photographs for publication; and are often thought of as the gold standard in that area.
But, anyone, amateur and pro alike, can enter their photos in the National Geographic 2009 Travel Photo Contest and have an even chance at winning.
