I have to confess that I'm a sucker for those bubbly TV ads that make whatever they're selling an absolute necessity-even though I know most of the time what they're hawking is absolute dreck. But while the quality of the product may be dubious, oftentimes the idea behind it isn't. Take Wallet Pix. I can't vouch for its quality, but it is a sound idea.
Many of us have billfolds with vinyl inserts for wallet-sized photos of family and firends. But what if we could replace those bulky inserts with a slim gadget that could display dozens of our precious pics in digital form? That's the promise of Wallet Pix-a credit card-sized gizmo with a color LCD that can hold about 50 snapshots. Wallet Pix seems like a brain gem to me, but I'm just a little hesitant about buying electronics from the makers of the Finishing Touch personal hair remover and the EdgeMaster self-edging paint roller.

Received a Wallet Pix as a gift. Neat little gadget, easy to operate but the pictures are way too small and grainy. You can load up to 58 pictures and no more (the software resizes all pictures on it’s own)only close up face shots will look any good at all. This is not a gift I would purchase for anyone.
