Now there's an offer you can't refuse, a chance to actually study MIT photography materials.
There are 1400 free MIT courses available online that deal with photography; and they're yours for the taking. Don't automatically pass on materials from the age of film because most of the principles and techniques used for film translate perfectly into digital.

Take a camera with you whenever possible, and look around, you'll find a picture somewhere.
