Just as the darkroom, with its developing tanks, and trays, and bottles of chemicals, and related paraphernalia, played a big part in the final product produced by film cameras, so do the graphics programs used to manipulate digital camera files.
So, digital photography school conducted a poll among its readers to find out which graphics programs are the most popular.
It's no surprise that an Adobe PhotoShop product topped the list and several others, such as Adobe Elements, were among the top choices.
However there were several more obscure programs and of particular note was the fact that several low cost and free post processing programs were also among the most popular.
Picasa, a Google giveaway, that I recommended and reported on here, came in at number 5.
