Cameras

You've heard of a concept car but a concept camera? That's what the avant garde designers at Yanko Design have cooked up to take panoramic pictures. Sure, many digital cameras have a panorama mode for capturing a series of shots that can be stitched together with a software program. I've used the technique and have produced pretty good results. Nevertheless, the process takes some effort-effort that Yanko proposes to eliminate.

The design firm's camera-a sleek disk with a spur-like protrusion-can be placed on a level surface and with the push of button, it will rotate a full 360 degrees, turning its surroundings into a seamless panorama picture that it stores on a memory card. According to its brewers, it will do video, too. Now all it needs is a manufacturer to pick up the idea and run with it.
