Combining Two Exposures.

We've touched on this before, but this is another great example of combining two photos to get the full range of exposure. In highly contrasted situations, it's easy to end up with areas of the photo either so overexposed that they're blown out completely, or so under exposed that you can't see a thing in the gloom.

Last time I posted on this subject, I asked if anyone could tell me how to do exposure bracketing on a D70. Fortunately, for me, no-one answered - because then I would have felt rather stupid. Of course, if you're using a higher end camera, you're probably shooting RAW - so you can vary the exposure settings when you import the image.

So, you import one deliberately over exposed, to get the highlights in the dark areas, and another under exposed, to avoid blowing out the well lit areas, then you go back to this tutorial to remember how to combine the two.

Brilliant!
