Color madness

One product trend that I find irritating these days is the desire of camera makers to liven up their offerings with perky colors. Olympus, in my mind, took this annoying drift to a new level today with a lime green edition of its Stylus 790SW. "Lime green" is the company's description of the color. To me, it looks like the color of something you'd find in a cup in a drug testing program. What's more, this camera is supposed to be tough: waterproof, shockproof-for crying out loud, its even freeze proof. Does anything lime green conjure toughness in your mind? Thank goodness, olympus
is limiting the production run of the camera to 5000 units. Better yet, they'll only be sold in Europe and won't make it to this side of the Atlantic!Permalink: Color madness
