The venerable Canon Camera Company has been around a long time and has produced some of the world's best cameras.
After having enormous success with rangefinder cameras, successfully competing with Nikon, Leica, and Contax, the company soon found itself battling it out with Nikon and many other brands for supremacy in the world of 35mm SLRs.
These days its business as usual for Canon Cameras; the company is still competing with Nikon and many other, different brands of camera makers in the Digital SLR arena.
