Here's a camera that fits the bill for more people and more situations than any other in recent memory.
The Canon PowerShot A590IS is about as perfect a beginner's digital camera as you can find but it's also sophisticated enough for the serious amateur who wants a good point and shoot camera as a backup.
This camera has been around a while, which is a tribute to it, and it means that the price is going down.
For about a hundred bucks you get an 8mp sensor, a 28-200mm (35mm equivalent)zoom lens, image stabilization, and in camera "HDR", or, High Dynamic Range capabilities. You also get enough "scene modes" and other controls to help bring out the best of your artistic side.
Check out the details of the Canon PowerShot A590IS digital camera.
Take a camera with you whenever possible, and look around, you'll find a picture somewhere.
