Camera Core is reporting that Zink Imaging is on schedule to send its innovative camera-printer product down the ways by the end of this year. The printer in the camera doesn't use ink. Instead, it employs special paper embedded with crystals. When the Heating element in the printer toasts the paper, the crystals release colors that become a picture. The unit produces novelty-sized 3-by-2-inch prints. In addition, the company plans to release a mobile printer using the same technology. "Zink," by the way, is a portmanteau for "zero ink."
