Digital Darkroom Instruction: Beyond Adobe RGB
For some images, particularly those with unusually vibrant colour, the colour space you use when editing
can be important to consider. The linked article tells us why.
For web display, you're probably not going to worry too much, but if you're printing, then the colour space information gets really important.
