Chimping - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:
Not a term I'd ever heard before, but according to Wikipedia:
Chimping is a term used in digital photography (especially when using a digital single-lens reflex camera or DSLR) to describe the habit of checking every photo on the on-camera display (LCD) immediately after capture.
News to me!
Fortunately, I only chimp a little - I don't look at every shot, especially not straight after capture. But I do review what I've got, and see if I feel the need to add to it, or get a shot at something I thought was fine when I released the shutter.
I've got the technology, why not use it?
