10 QUICK TIPS FOR BETTER DIGITAL PICTURES

Source:www.jimippolito.com

You can never get enough tips to help you become a better digital photographer.

Again, the beauty of digital is that costs nothing to practice, test, and experiment, because you only pay for what you print, and you only print what you want. In fact, if you're like many people and only view your pictures on your computer, you don't pay for printing at all.

Any competitive or creative pursuit, be it football, or playing the violin, requires practice, and the same applies to photography.

Practice everything with your camera, even if it's just in your own home, backyard, or during a walk through your neighborhood.

Take pictures of everyday small objects and large structures from different angles, and by manipulating your camera's manual settings. Photograph the same things at different times of the day and you'll be amazed at how differently anything can look when tiny changes in exposure or angle are made.

Bring a small notepad and keep track of your changes so you can later tell what worked best.

Now, on to the tips, which are hints from someone else. I've already covered a few of them, but they bear repeating because they're basic and important. Some of them will be covered in greater depth in future postings because they can be expanded upon for even more options.

Check out "The Top 10 Digital Photography Tips".

Today's picture was taken a few weeks ago during a video shooting session for another of my blogs, "PlayTimeLasVegas".

I posted it because it happened to be an example of tip # 10, "Slow Motion Water."

I used a Kodak P880 8 mega-pixel digital camera set on "shutter preferred" mode, with, obviously, a slow enough shutter speed to partially blur the water, but not so slow as to induce visible effects from camera shake.

The focal lengthlinks was set to about 24mm, 35mm equivalent, and I cropped the top of the picture out because it was mostly boring, stark, white sky.
